Biography

Sébastien Simon was born on 6 May 1990 in La Roche-sur-Yon. Introduced to sailing at a very young age, he quickly climbed the ranks: Optimist, then 420 (third in the world in 2013), J80 and M34. His goal then became offshore racing, with the Vendée Globe in his sights. Winner of the Challenge Espoir Bretagne-CMB in 2013, he shone in the Figaro and won La Solitaire in 2018. In IMOCA, he won the Bermudes 1000 Race in 2019. After being forced to retire in 2020, he made up for it by finishing third in the 2024 Vendée Globe. An engineer and an all-round athlete, he also excels in triathlon.
