"The pursuit of absolute performance has an ecological cost that the planet can no longer bear. We must show restraint and resilience in order to accelerate our transition to a circular economy."

Biography

Born in Paris, a father of three and settled in Brittany since 2000, Romain Pilliard discovered racing while studying at ESSEC and went on to compete twice in La Solitaire du Figaro. With his wife Aurélie, he works in sports marketing and together they founded the Tour de Belle-Ile. Committed to the circular economy and to protecting the Ocean through the endowment fund USE IT AGAIN, in 2016 he refitted Ellen MacArthur's maxi trimaran, on which he has taken on one challenge after another, including an attempt at a reverse round-the-world voyage, while devoting himself to awareness-raising and to scientific research on underwater noise pollution.
