Biography

Robin Marais, born in Lyon in 1986, was introduced to sailing from an early age. He went through Olympic sailing, Mini, Class40 and Figaro before taking part in his first Route du Rhum in 2018, which he finished in 18th place. He returns in 2026 in an IMOCA with RESPIRE, a project that is both sporting and human: his Vendée Globe 2028 ambition is coupled with a commitment to air quality, ocean preservation and the education of young people. He aims to bring three associations together around these closely linked causes and to make his adventure at sea a meaningful undertaking.
