Biography
Born in Quimper and based in La Trinité-sur-Mer, Marc Guillemot has raced on almost every kind of offshore boat: catamarans, ORMA trimarans and IMOCAs. He finished 2nd in the Route du Rhum in 2002.
At the helm of the IMOCA Safran, he was crowned IMOCA world champion in 2009, won the Transat Jacques Vabre alongside Charles Caudrelier and came 3rd in the 2008-2009 Vendée Globe.
In 2022, he started the Route du Rhum on MG5, a catamaran of which 95% of the parts and materials are reused, and finished 3rd in Rhum Multi. For the 2026 edition, he sets off again on MG5, now in the colours of Wellness Training.
