"Talking well makes people laugh, doing well makes them shut up!"
Biography
Jean Le Cam, boatbuilder, navigator and skipper, first raced with his father at the age of 14. In 1981, during his military service, he found himself alongside Eric Tabarly, with whom he took part, as a crew member, in his first round-the-world race.
In 1983, he founded the CDK Composites yard in Port La Forêt with his two partners, Gaétan Gouérou and Hubert Desjoyeaux. At 19, he was already competing in transatlantic races; he has taken part in sixteen editions of the Solitaire du Figaro, which he won three times. Over a period of 20 years, he has started 6 editions of the Vendée Globe.
