Going aboard IDEC SPORT - CIC alone means accepting to step out of your comfort zone at every moment. That is exactly what motivates me. I'm here to learn, to progress and to write a new page of my story.

Biography

Born in Paris in 1979 and raised in Nice, Alexia Barrier took up sailing at the age of 3. After finishing her studies in sports science (STAPS), she began her offshore racing career in 2005 with the Mini Transat, then racked up Atlantic crossings alongside figures such as Florence Arthaud, Dennis Conner and Samantha Davies. Over twenty years, she has sailed more than 200,000 nautical miles and crossed the Atlantic 18 times, 5 of them solo. Twenty-fourth in the 2020-2021 Vendée Globe, in 2025 she became the fastest woman on the water thanks to the round-the-world sailing record with an all-female crew, The Famous Project.
